Sonique is a British artist I knew nothing about before we met. She had a hit single in Europe, and her label in the U.S. wanted to get a package out as soon as possible. She came over from England for the shoot. When Sonique walked into the room, she just had this amazing presence. She was tall and had the physique of a world-class athlete. At the photoshoot, I witnessed her incredible energy. She turned out to be truly exceptional in front of the camera. She could move and strike poses with the very best of them. The images we got back were bold and powerful. She looked stunning. I love the way this package turned out. Using the color bars, the kalidescopic lines, and the shifting typography to reflect her energy. I had a lot of freedom with the design, which I really enjoyed.
