This was the first record for this band. As an Art Director for major labels, I’ve worked with a lot of newly signed artists. For Transmatic, it was their first experience with an Art Director and a photoshoot. In this case with a great photographer, James Minchin III. When I look back, these guys were very open to it all… the concepts, the styling, the shoot, and the design process. It’s a long road for a new band to sign with a label, and then, record, mix, master, and create the packaging. I feel its my job to give them the best branding and imaging possible. My link in the chain.
